The stronger your support system, the stronger you and your relocalization efforts can be. |

Change is challenging as we see we will have to change and grow. Radical change is radically challenging. A lot of relocalization is growing ourselves personally and practically to be ready to meet and follow through the challenges. That can be a lot of juicy fun - changing our model of the future to one that's got some energy in it for us, and stepping into it. The support options here involve other people. All of them will go better if you're "working" on yourself too! Three "growth aids," three supports One is to get active in your community and to discuss what is emerging for you with the new friends you're making. It's a good way, and often change happens seemingly by itself through this route. Talking to friends is part of what I do myself. This works best when you also have some foundation of inner work, some ability to work with "your stuff" and take responsibility for it, when you're used to being self-directed. Caution: This option, used alone, can often be a way of doing nothing at all. The changes we need are deep and structural and require a vigorous personal participation. Perhaps it's better to do one of the other options below as well. A second is to be part of a group that is working to support each others' next steps in relocalization including the personal evolution that's part of making it happen. A group heats up possibilities and allows new ones to be seen; it makes your own challenges much more real and clear to you and ought to be inspiring. I continue to benefit hugely from groups and recommend them to you. The simplest way I know to do this is to look at a Transition Support Group, a local group that can be a support to you and as incubator of good next steps. Have a look. A third support option is to assist your personal work on yourself byone-on-one coaching with me or another person skilled in working with change. You get the benefit of the experience of someone else who's dedicatedly on your team, a spark for ideas, a place to be accountable - and it's fun. Though we need our private work too, we tend to learn better with other people as a part of the mix. Read about personal coaching option here. |
